The dream of flying seems just as fantastic in its beginnings as its further development into space travel. The models of the first flight pioneers, initially designed without a drive, were based on sketches and further developments of the flight designs developed in the 15th century, which were designed by none other than Leonardo da Vinci. In order to generate lift, speed is required and therefore a ramp or an aircraft starter is reminiscent of the beginnings of aeronautics.

The rubber band-operated wooden model from UGEARS® uses a blaster pistol as propulsion and allows the attractive glider to sail out into the beautiful expanse. Like all models from this brand manufacturer, the 198 individual parts of the model kit are assembled in the style of steampunk and are therefore artistically oriented towards postmodern retrofuturism. With its openwork effect, this serves as an illustrative object of mechanical worlds that imitate the kinetic behavior of the butterfly wing. The present flight model from UGEARS® flutters rather than sails.
