Every reader is made all too aware of the shrill ringing of a big city scene in the historical novel “Berlin Alexanderplatz” by Alfred Döblin. As the epitome of expressive language, the book is a major work of modernism, which was already critical of the dystopia of a mechanical world at the beginning of the 20th century.

Based on this metropolitan world, the brand manufacturer UGEARS® has created a mechanical city that, as a 3D model, can depict the transportation system of a tram line in an artistic way. Rather, the flashy openwork construction is a collector's item that has to be assembled from a total of 154 individual parts. Subjected to the cyberpunk style of a postmodern mechanical world, every component is reproduced in the form of steampunk or retrofuturism, which makes every gear mechanism tangible. Models - like the tram - which are powered by a rubber band motor present the technology from a completely different perspective. In addition to the learning effect, the craftsmanship is brought to the fore and is visible in every component. The UGEARS® tram is therefore visible acoustics on four wheels.
